For the fast and cost-effective realization of customers’ projects, SET supports the customers in qualified project management – starting from defining system requirements, developing and manufacturing hardware, mechanical systems and software, to implementing and starting up the finished system. SET delivers cutting edge, standardized and at the same time modular HiL test systems of various sizes – the standardized HiL test system family (smartTEST L, M, S or XS). The standardized processes, platforms and software tools as well as the modular architecture tailored to the customers’ needs allow for easy expansion to the most diverse applications.
The HiL test systems are equipped with a modular Power Distribution Unit (PDU), a PXI or cRIO platform, a SLSC platform or the AEROspice and SMARTbrick module system, a Breakout Panel (BOP) and a software based on National Instruments software tools.
Our modular Power Distribution Unit (PDU) supplies your system and protects the operator. They are equipped with:
The measurement technology of the standardized and modular HiL family (smartTEST L, smartTEST M, smartTEST S or smartTEST XS) is based on PXI or CompactRIO (cRIO) of National Instruments (NI). Both platforms provide real-time operating systems (OS) and Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) technology. The platforms can be used to produce stimulus signals, acquire data for logging and analysis, and provide the sensor/actuator interactions between the electronic control unit (ECU) being tested and the virtual environment being simulated by the model. For the communication of diverse components in a vehicle, SET uses vehicle busses like Controller Area Network (CAN), Local Interconnect Network (LIN) and FlexRay.
Signal conditioning is implemented by our modules based on the NI Switch, Load and Signal Conditioning (SLSC) platform or by combining our AEROspice and SMARTbrick module system.
The SLSC platform standardizes the “last mile” between the measurement device and the device under test (DUT). The standardization includes the complete signal chain from a PXI or cRIO over the SLSC chassis all the way to the connector front end of the test system as well as any needed cables and mechanical equipment. SET offers a wide variety of different signal conditioning cards to interface DUTs. The platform is designed to allow effective development of additional cards in terms of cost and time.
The AEROspice / SMARTbrick system is a highly modular signal instrumentation concept which utilizes system boards carrying up to four mezzanine modules. All signal I/O is routed to a standard rear side connector. Because of the modular building block concept, very specific functionalities can be configured by simply plugging-on building block modules onto the system board.
The Breakout Panel (BOP) supports integration testing by simplifying the access to test signals. One-to-one connections at the BOP make the system less complex and easier to maintain. Every system uses a signal matrix, is able to test itself and could simulate faults.
Based on National Instruments’ software tools and our reliable and tested libraries, our software architects customize every system to your needs. Being open, transparent, accurate, real-time capable and efficient are crucial here. Therefore we have standardized source code modules:
